LOT 2: Toronto

2012 Bay Stallion - KWPN (Now or Never M x Larinka) Donated by Kathy St. Martin, Avalon Equine

  • CURRENT BID: $1,125.00
  • SOLD
  • LOT IS CLOSED

  • Type/Breed: Dutch Warmblood
  • Size: 16.3
  • Papers: No

Notes:

Toronto, an Elite Stallion with the Hanoverian Verband, is a Dutch stallion acquired by the Celle State Stud to further the jumping talent of the breeding program.

His performance test single score in jumping was 9.3. This powerful bay stallion descends from the jumping horse producer Now or Never M, who is stationed in Holland.

Torontos grandsire is the prepotent Voltaire, a consistent sire of international jumpers with temperaments of gold.

The damline is also very interesting - Torontos damsire is Belisar by Saros xx, who is a full brother to Swazi xx, the sire of the Trakehner stallion Consul.||The scope and athleticism of Toronto can certainly be attributed to his sire, the Voltaire son Now or Never M. Voltaire looks back on a long lasting career in international show jumping ridden by Jos Lansink. He was among the top jumping horses at shows in Calgary, Stockholm, Lanaken, Helsinki, Wiesbaden and at Olympia in London.

Voltaire obviously passed on his characteristic ability to perform to his offspring both in dressage and jumping. He is descended from the legendary Furioso II who like none before him influenced Germanys horse populations by producing offspring with enormous versatility and various purposes.

Now or Never M has many approved sons to his credit and is well on his way to establishing his own line in Hanoverian breeding. Now or Never M was champion in s-Hertogenbosch in 1998. He was a stallion of great presence. He won the finals in the IAN trophy in the KWPN competition in the year 2000. In 2001, Now or Never M gained 7th place. He was one of the 12 selected KWPN horses for the World Championships at Lanaken in 2001 and he won first place in the Stallion Competition 2000/2001 in Giesbeek. Now or Never M has proven himself as a sire by producing a multitude of uniform foals with very good riding type, good quality and outstanding presence. They are known for having wonderful movement, good minds and exceptional jumping ability. Now or Never M currently has a very high breeding value of 152 points for jumping on the German FNs ranking system and has shown to consistently improve the canter.

Torontos dam is by Belisar, a Saros xx son. Saros comes from a strong line of successful steeplechasers, race winners, and sport horses. The infusion of Thoroughbred blood is essential in warmblood breeding and this particular line has had an excellent influence which can also be seen through the Trakehner stallion Consul.

The Now or Never M nick with Beilsar/Saros xx daughters has proven to be an undeniably successful cross producing the approved stallions Valentino, Winston Uccello, Alchimist and Vallado, in addition to Toronto.

Toronto gained the following scores at his performance test; character 8, temperament 8, willingness to perform 8, conformation 8, trot 6.33, canter 8 walk 7.67, natural jumping ability 9, free jumping 8,83, jumping manner 9, jumping technique 8.67, cross country 10. He won the jumping phase of the test which could be expected because of his outstanding pedigree. Among his offspring produced to date, he has one licensed son, 5 state premium mares, 15 auction horses.

Hengstleistungsprfung (Stallion Performance Test) 2003 - Adelheidsdorf|Overall score: 123.68 / 4th of 39|Dressage score: 103.05 - 15th of 39|Jumping score: 135.60 - 1st of 39||Breeding Value Scores: Dressage (111) Jumping (142) |Riding type (79) Conformation (98) Dressage (94) Jumping (122)

Dante MG (Click Here for pedigree)
This black stallion is turning eyes at the show, not only with his striking good looks but his super character. He was a favorite with his german rider at the stallion testing.  He competed to 1.1m with rider Carly Fisher. In 2016 his new rider Anna Smith will be bringing him to the higher levels. Height is no problem for Dante MG! He easily cleared 1.4 m at the stallion testing with lots of room to spare. He is modern and a fancy mover. The dressage riders like him too. His offspring have been first premium and Top five with the KWPN and also 2nd place in the USDF dressage foals in the nation!  The offspring are super movers that will excel in the breed shows and the sport with his talent.

Dante's sire Chin Chin had a very impressive jumping career. Together with his former owner and rider, Jaime Azcarraga from Mexico, this combination participated for more than five years at international level. In 1988 Jaime Azcarraga won five consecutive times in the North American League on the World Cup circuit and competed in Seoul at the Olympic Games where they placed sixth individually. Four years later, they competed again at the Olympics in Barcelona. In 1990, Chin Chin and Jaime Azcarraga started in the first edition of the World Equestrian Games in Stockholm. In 1989 and 1990, they were placed in the final of the World Cup in both Dortmund and Tampa. At the same time, they competed at international jumping competitions during which the scope, character and the suppleness of Chin Chin always aided his determined but amateur rider.

Dante's dam Obertede is a Keur mare imported from Holland. She has produces us both dressage and jumping foals that have done well at the KWPN inspections and breed shows. O'Bert-e-de is by the keur stallion Glennridge who is deceased son of Wellington. Glennridge died young at 11 years old, but we carry on his bloodlines un O'Bert-e-de. Glennridge won his stallion test with scores; walk 9 trot 7.5 canter 8 riding test 7 Free jumping 8.5 Show jumping 89.5 Cross country test 8 Character 8 Training report 8. Glennridge has a breeding value in jumping with the high score of 137! He was a Grand Prix jumping stallion who placed in numerous Grand Prix, World Cups and International Stallion competitions. In 1998 Glennridge was placed 12th in the World Rankings. He tragically died in 1999. For the Record by Glennridge is jumping level 5/1.35 meters in USA with rider Jennifer Rossire. Glennridge is also the sire of Jane Karol's Grand Prix dressage gelding Nibbit. He has produced both jumping and dressage offspring like our mare O'Bert-e-de does.

O'bert-e-de's motherline is the Ritta mareline #15 in Holland.  O'bert-e-de's dam Jorfa is a Keur mare who had the incredible high IBOP riding test score of 90! At 2 years old Jorfa was a UTV mare which is top honors for a mare in Holland indicating they are among the top mares in Holland. She comes from a long established line of Keur and Preferant mares. From this motherline is the approved stallions Triton, Zadok, Akteur, Zenner, Sportman, Theobalo and Zandor.   Famous sires in her line include Zuidhorn, Amor, Marco Polo. Triton's granddam Geroma jumped at international levels. Triton's dam Lydia also produced the famous showjumper Nautilus who jumped the 1991 World Cup Finals.

LOT 8: Pilothago TN

2010 Bay Stallion - Westfalen (Pilot x Valerie) Donated by Jeannette Benedict-Nijhof, Team Nijhof

  • CURRENT BID: $725.00
  • SOLD
  • LOT IS CLOSED

  • Type/Breed: Westphalian
  • Size: 1.69 cm
  • Papers: No

Notes:

The Westphalian premium stallion Pilothago offers the breeders one of the last chances to breed to a direct son of foundation sire Pilot.

As sire of many Grand Prix showjumpers such as the outstanding Priamos, Bugatti Pedro, Pirol, Poker and Pia Lotta.

Sire Pilot have made history as a breeding stallion.

In the 70 days performance test in Neustadt-Dosse the in 2010 born Pilothago showed his talent and ability as a showjumper. He received an 8.75 for jumping under saddle and an 8 for both his ability and character. Also in sport Pilothago seems able to stand out. That's no wonder when we take a closer look at his pedigree.

Dam Valerie is also dam of the Westphalian approved stallion Diathago (s.Diamant de Semilly) and she is an half sister of the international 1.50m show jumpers Gioia del Castegno (s.Concorde) and the Italian approved stallion Maximo del Castegno (s.Acodetto I), both ridden by Roberto Prandi.

Valerie is sired by the legendary Olympic stallion Carthago, who was very successful with Jos Lansink for years. As a breeding stallion Carthago proved his value with many international showjumpers such as Mylord Carthago, Cristallo, Kira III, Cash and Cicero Z. Maybe even more as a damsire Carthago is making the difference in breeding. Granddam Sera del Castegno unites the international sport- and breeding stallions Stakkato and Grannus in her pedigree and she is a full sister of the Oldenburg approved 1.45m jumping stallion Sicerto. Also the Grand Prix showjumper Acorte (s.Acorado I) of Audrey Coulter, the 1.50m showjumper Salvatore (s.Sandro Boy) of Bruno Broucqsault, the 1.40m jumper Scipio (s.San Brasil) and the Hannoverian approved premium stallion Diatendro (s.Diarado) are of this direct damline. The first offspring of Pilothago is born in 2014 and they have good types, canter and elasticity.

WBFSH Top-10 Leading Sire for the last 7 years.

Sire of GLOCKS UNDERCOVER, 2nd 2015 World Cup.

Olympic Ferro, the Dutch sensation at Aachen, competed at the 2000 Olympics and assisted his team in achieving a team silver medal, with an individual score of 74.92%. As a three-year-old he was champion of his performance test at Ermelo, where he achieved the outstanding results of 6.5--step, 8.5--trot and 8.5 gallop.

His sire Ulft, is a son of the great Le Mexico, who is listed 10th on the jumping index with 142 points. Le Mexico carries Furloso xx blood, which brings value to any pedigree.

Ferros dam, Brenda is a daughter of the Holsteiner, Farn, who is listed sixth on the jumping index with 146 points. FarNns son Nimmerdor, is listed second on the jumping index with 155 points.

Olympic Ferro sired the champion of the three-year old stallions at sHertogenbosch in 2000, and has nine young stallions in the second round there in 2001. The champion three year old mare at Ermelo in 2000 was an Olympic Ferro daughter. Much is expected of this charming, talented black stallion who achieved the title of Keur in 2000. He can be relied upon to produce beautiful, typy, talented offspring of the highest quality. Fantastic toplines and an elegant look characterize his get. In addition to their dressage excellence, Olympic Ferros offspring also make good jumpers.

Olympic Ferro is #1 on the BN World Stallion Rankings for dressage and is the top stallion and pride of the Netherlands, affectionately known as the Black Pearl. In 2002 Olympic Ferro once; again had the highest scores on the Dutch Olympic team.

Auction is for two (2) 0.5ml single straws. Which is what most people now use to achieve a conception, though some get single-straw conceptions. Though, it could be used for ICSI breeding.

LOT 11: Jestar Du Lozon

1997 Chestnut Stallion - Selle Francais (Papillon Rouge x Daisy de Brecey) Donated by Donna Harringt

  • CURRENT BID: $600.00
  • SOLD
  • LOT IS CLOSED

  • Type/Breed: Selle Francais
  • Size: 16.2
  • Papers: No

Notes:

Jestar du Lozon captures the most discerning eye with his outstanding qualities. He has all the traits breeders look for in a stallion... pedigree, type, conformation, temperament and the scope, technique and heart to tackle the most renowned international courses. As a young stallion, Jestar was the 3rd highest ranked stallion approved by the Selle Francais and accordingly, became one of the top sellers at the elite NASH Saint-Lo auction. Before being imported by Split Rock Farm, he was piloted by German Olympic Gold Medalist Lars Nieberg and two-time Danish show jumping champion Torben Suhr in numerous CSI 4-star and 5-star competitions, including the prestigious Hamburg Derby.

Jestar du Lozon's sire is none other than the French legend Papillon Rouge, a stallion who has become one of the leading progenitors of upper level competition horses. He appears regularly in the top echelon of sport horse sires in all studbooks and through his sire, Jalisco B, carries some of the most influential jumping bloodlines in the world. Jestar's pedigree is rounded out by two sires, Artichaut and Starter, who continue to have significant impact on the show jumping world. Both are often found today in the second or third generations of successful jumpers, including the likes of international stars Baloubet du Rouet, Nabab de Reve and Epsom Gesmeray.

Through Jestar du Lozon, breeders have the opportunity to breed to a stallion of not only international class, but a stallion that provides proven, elite show jumping lines unavailable in North America.

LOT 17: Connaisseur

2007 Bay Stallion - Hanoverian (Con Amore x Donna Clara) Donated by Sara Pocock, Character Warmbloo

  • CURRENT BID: $1,600.00
  • SOLD
  • LOT IS CLOSED

  • Type/Breed: Hanoverian
  • Size: 16.2 169cm
  • Papers: No

Notes:

Connaisseur was imported to Vancouver, Canada in the fall of 2012.

He was previously ridden and shown by Emmelie Scholtens in Holland, where successfully completed the 50 day KWPN performance test with all scores of 8 and above. He competed in the Pavo cup as a 4 and 5 year old, each time with scores in the mid 80s, placing 3rd and 6th respectively.

Connaisseur has since gone on to sire many top quality foals, consistently throwing his exceptional canter and lovely temperament along with his modern type and abundantly elastic gaits.

As a three year old he was leased to the Swedish National stud, Flyinge, where he became the fourth highest producing stallion in Sweden for 2010. A filly from his first year of breeding was named the Dressage Champion at the Swedish inspection.

Connaisseur also sired the second most expensive foal at the 2012 KWPN elite foal auction. Since then, his offspring have started competing and winning throughout Europe. One 3 year old mare (Connaisseur x Krack C) scored 90 points at her KWPN mare inspection, along with a 3 year old colt (Connaisseur x Ulft) that competed in a class of 90+ horses and won the entire class!

Since moving to Canada, Connaisseur has continued his sport career, along with a busy career in the breeding shed. Last year he and his owner, Sara Pocock, debuted in the Developing horse PSG class and scored 72.5% with very positive comments from FEI judge, Lilo Fore. This year pair will continue to train and prepare for his CDI debut along with starting to school some of the advanced movements.

Connaisseur has developed a very good reputation for having far above average semen quality, both fresh and frozen. We have had excellent conception rates with both his fresh and frozen semen. When breeding to Connaisseur, you can expect only the best possible service and knowledge when it comes to the staff and veterinarians at JCS Veterinary Services.

For more information or to review a breeding contract, please contact characterwarmbloods@gmail.com|

If you are not winner of the auction, but would still like to purchase a breeding to Connaisseur, we will be offering a Valentine's day special - 10% off if booked between Feb 1st - 15th.

LOT 19: Capone I

1996 Bay Stallion - Holsteiner (Contender x Winja) Donated by Corinne Super, No Limit Farm

Winner of the $125,000 CN Performance World Cup at Spruce Meadows.

  • CURRENT BID: $1,575.00
  • SOLD
  • LOT IS CLOSED

Record: Winner of the $125,000 CN Performance World Cup at Spruce Meadows.

  • Type/Breed: Holsteiner
  • Size: 16.1
  • Papers: No

Notes:

Capone’s pedigree represents the pinnacle of jumping bloodlines in the Holsteiner breed, which is itself the preeminent breed globally in the production of International-level showjumpers. Capone 1 was approved for breeding in Germany.

He is by the international superstar jumper sire Contender. While Contender hardly needs introduction, it is worth remembering how he became so famous, namely his reputation for production of both outstanding sporthorses and breeding mares, as well as most notably his production of stunning stallion sons the world around. Contender’s approved sons in the Holsteiner registry alone number well into the double-digits, and he is used by nearly every warmblood breed in Europe as an important improvement sire.

Not only himself a successful competition horse and also impeccably-bred Holsteiner stallion, Capone 1 impresses many with his good nature and charming ways. Equally at home on a trailride with friends as he is in the victory gallop at Spruce, Capone 1 breaks many North American misconceptions about stallions. With his breeding duties neatly interwoven into his training and competition schedule, Capone demonstrates the sound mind and gentle soul that is prized by so many who breed horses to be champions and willing companions. Capone has produced several successful foal crops, with more mare owners every year choosing him for their breeding stock. So far, we see Capone foals with a strong “stamp” from their handsome father. Compact, athletic, elegant, and well-balanced, his foals also stand out strongly with their super temperaments through friendly minds, generous hearts, and a kind eye that is immediately recognized as “a Capone” the world around.

Capone has an outstanding competition record that spans many Grand Prix wins and International ring appearances from Florida, California, Langley B.C., and Spruce Meadows respectively.

2011 season saw Kyle King ride Capone to the CN Performance victory at Spruce Meadows against a field of the worlds best. Another impressive achievement for Capone’s career. Capone was also awarded the prestigious “Elite Stallion” award by the BWP in 2012.

LOT 20: Netto

2003 Brown Stallion - KWPN (Negro x Nathalisa) Donated by Natalie DiBerardinis, Hilltop Farm, Inc..

Successful FEI competitor with strong Grand Prix scores and top placings in venues such as Roosendaa

  • CURRENT BID: $1,000.00
  • SOLD
  • LOT IS CLOSED

  • Type/Breed: Dutch Warmblood
  • Size: 17.1
  • Papers: Yes
  • Registry: KWPN

Notes:

A tall, strongly built, and powerful moving stallion, Netto's presence commands one's attention.  He was a sensation at the KWPN stallion show with his piaffe and passage work captivating all who were there.  Netto had already been a successful FEI competitor, so following a 5-day behavioral test he was fully approved by the KWPN.

Under Olympian Anne Van Olst, Netto is being carefully developed into a top international Grand Prix horse.  He made his Grand Prix CDI debut in 2013 and earned strong scores and top placings in venues such as Roosendaal and Saumur. Anne uses words such as sweet, reliable, and diligent to describe him and calls him a dream horse.

Netto's sire, Negro, is a Preferant stallion with the KWPN that has been an exceptional sire of FEI horses, including the 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist and World Record holder Valegro. Netto's damsire, Purioso, sired five KWPN approved stallions including the international horse Cocktail.  Almost half of Purioso's daughters have received their Ster Predicate.  Purioso was an exceptional sire of sporthorses, both in showjumping and dressage, and five of his progeny competed at the Barcelona Olympics.

Further back in Netto's pedigree we find the legendary Nimmerdor, considered by many to be the Stallion of the Century for Holland.  An international competitor who also sire international standouts, Nimmerdor's influence is felt across almost all warmblood registries.  We also see the influence of one of the most successful Thoroughbred stallions ever in Holland, the Preferent stallion Courville xx, in the bottom of Netto's pedigree.

Hickstead
1996 brown 16.0-hand Dutch Warmblood
Approved for: KWPN, NAWPN, AHHA, Candadian Warmblood, ISR/Oldenburg NA pending

Hickstead was the world's 2008 number one-ranked showjumper. Under Canadian Eric Lamze he amassed a spectacular international record, including the Individual Gold and Team Silver medals at the 2008 Olympics. His sire is Hamlet and his dam, Jomara, is by the well-known and recently deceased stallion, Ekstein.  Hickstead’s bloodlines also feature such prominent show jumping names as Nimmerdor, Notaris, Ulft, Le Mexico and Joost. Together, Lamaze and Hickstead amassed an impressive list of accomplishments. In addition to winning Individual Gold and Team Silver Medals in dramatic fashion at the Olympic Games, the pair also won Team Silver and Individual Bronze medals at the 2007 Pan American Games. They won the richest annual event in show jumping, the $1 million CN International, at the 2007 Spruce Meadows “Masters” Tournament, making Lamaze only the second Canadian rider in the event’s history to capture the title. The pair won the $100,000 CN World Cup Grand Prix in front of a home crowd in Toronto, ON, in November 2008.

Baloubet du Rouet

1999, Bay, 171 cm, Selle Francais
Approved for: Finland, France, Hanover, IHB, Italy, Mecklenburg, Oldenburg, OS-International, Poland. Rhineland, Sweden, South German Stud Books, Westphalia, Zangersheide

Three-time World Champion jumping horse, and repeat Olympian, Baloubet du Rouet, under Rodrigo Pessoa, has thrilled audiences and pushed the boundaries of show jumping worldwide.

In 1999 he won the World Cup in Gothenburg for the second year running, an incredible achievement seen by only three horses since the start of the competition. Baloubet du Rouet's dam, Mesange de Rouet, had eight wins from 13 outings at four years of age, and five wins from 12 outings at five. She is also mother of Unadore de Rouet. Her sire, Starter, is a noted sire of broodmares. Grand dam, Badine, also produced Globule, dam of Nemo de la Fosse and Urcos du Rouet. In addition to his World Cup win, Baloubet du Rouet, was finalist to the championship of the world as a six year old and champion of France as a seven year old. Baloubet du Rouet's offspring inherit his bold athleticism and are very promising, already placing him well on breeding indices. Gonzague du Rouet and Gershwin du REIS, are both winners in CSO. Gatsby Vandrin sold for a record price as a five year old for 850.000 FB. Waldman sold as a foal for 700.000 FB at the sale of Maline, and Bahlmannz sold as a foal for 475.000 FB at the sale of Zangersheide. This stallion stands for capacity, honesty and precision in jumping. Like his world-famous rider, he has set a new standard for modern show jumping.

Cornet Obolensky

1999 gray 16.3-1/4-hand Belgian Warmblood
Approved for: Oldenburg, Rhineland, Westphalia, Hanoverian

Cornet Obolensky has come to dominate the scene in breeding and competition like no other stallion. Among his offspring are several title bearers such as the winner of the “Bundeschampionat” (championship for young horses of all German breeds) and world champions. 74 of his offspring (seven years old in 2012) have achieved wins and placements in S-class competitions, generating annual total earnings of 232,877 euros, raising his offspring’s lifetime earnings to 469,057 euros. In the current breeding index, Cornet Obolensky has a breeding value of 166 points with a 96% precision rate.

Cornet Obolensky was the acclaimed jumping star and second Reserve Champion at the 2001 NRW Licensing. Under Marco Kutscher, he already won Grand Prix and Nations Cup competitions such as the Samsung Super League final in Barcelona that he won for the second time. In 2008, he won bronze at the German National Championship and first place in the Grand Prix competitions in Balve/GER, and Cervia/ITA, as well as in the Nations Cup competition in Rotterdam/NED; he was also a member of the German Olympic team in Hong Kong. In 2009, he came second at the World Cup jumping competition in Bordeaux/FRA, third at the Grand Prix competition in Rio de Janeiro/BRA and was placed in the Global Champions Tour Final in Doha. Cornet Obolensky’s lifetime earnings currently amount to 388.915 euros.
