ECORO GAIA (c, 2, Speightstown--Charge of Angels, by Distorted Humor) won his maiden two back over a sloppy Kyoto main track Oct. 9 and was cutting back to this trip off an allowance fourth over 1400 meters at that same venue Oct. 22.  Outsprinted to the front by heavily favored Love on Top (Jpn) (Henny Hughes), the full-brother to the stakes-placed Winning Number raced on his wrong lead in the straight, but refused to go away and clawed past the pacesetter in the final 70 meters en route to a 3/4-length victory. A $120,00 Keeneland September yearling, Ecoro Gaia is out of a half-sister to nine winners from 11 to race, including GISW Bluegrass Cat (Storm Cat), MGSW Lord of the Game (Saint Ballado), and SW Sonoma Cat (Storm Cat); and a full-sister to GSW Dramedy.
