2003 Chestnut Stallion (Rosario x Azkent II / Frelherr) Donated by Wendy Costello, Kent Island Sporthorses
#3 nationally ranked 6-year-old Dressage. Currently competing in the 3`6 Hunters. Sire of a Licenses Stallion, premium foals, and champions under saddle and in-hand.
The handsome, personable Rosall is by a top Rubinstein son, Rosario, and out of SPS Liberty (Akzent II/Absatz/Abglanz).
After he was named Champion of his 30-Day Test in Germany, Rosall was imported as an FEI prospect for top Grand Prix /International rider JJ Tate who described him as “World class.” Before entry into the ARS, he was lifetime licensed for breeding by Westfalen/RPSI, ISR/OldNA and GOV. He earned 129.7 points as top stallion of the ISR/Oldenburg NA Performance Test in 2009.
After import he trained and competed successfully as the #3 nationally ranked 6-year-old. While it was anticipated he would be an FEI dressage star, perhaps Olympic bound, Rosall was found to have a non-genetic breathing anomaly in his throat which ended his FEI dressage career. With above-average jumping skills, he became a hunter star and is currently competing at 3'6” with great success.
Via excellent frozen semen, he passes on dressage talent, a free shoulder, front end expression, and strong power from behind. His offspring show correct conformation that includes longer legs, exceptional gaits, modern refinement and the calm, endearing charm everyone loves.
Rosall has been lightly bred due to his sport horse career. His high-quality offspring include licensed stallion Royal English KIS (Atlanta/Aktion); AHS-approved daughter Rosalie KIS is multiple Champion/high placed in hand at Devon and undersaddle; Premium GOV fillies Raigin and Rhiannon out of ES Donavan mares; Premium GOV Royal Roulette KIS out of EM Royal Princess OBX; Royall KIS pinned at Devon; Raigin was selected to clinic with Robert Dover and Debbie McDonald; Rapunzel KIS, out of AHS JBP Little Black xx, was reserve at her inspection with the ISR/OLDNA. In 2013, VA Tech bred a top-scoring foal (8.2), Roxbury VT. Rainmaker and Raven are successful eventers. Rosall crosses well with all types and breeds of mares, producing athletic, talented foals, with desirable temperaments.
