2001 Black Stallion (Rotspon x Velten Third / World Cup III) Donated by Christine M. Kropf Hawk Hollow Farm
4th World Young Horse Championships. Sire of Licensed Stallions.
Rascalino completed the dressage portion of his Adelheidsdorf performance test with the knockout score of 153.37. This score was good enough to make him the winner of the test, with the score of 103.56 on the jumping portion. In fact, this respectable jumping score may be a product of the of the Wedekind/Ferdinand and Wendekreis/ Ferdinand in damsire Velten Third's background.
A further performance component is added through paternal grandsire Rubinstein I, a line known for dressage excellence, but also with some talent at the jump. World Cup III as the sire of the second dam insures dressage excellence.
Rascalino is a beautiful, elegant stallion with the outstanding gaits and exceptional freedom of the shoulders, sure to make his mark in modern dressage breeding, in the hoofprints of his famous sire and grandsire. So far Rascalino has sired four licensed sons (JJ RayBan, Ricardo Star, Royal of Black, Rantanplan) and 15 States Premium Mares. Rascalino, who briefly had a second name Roydorfer, was competed by Celle's Wolfhard Witte as a youngster and finished fourth at the 2005 Bundeschampionat and 12th at the 2006 Bundeschampionat.
In 2007 he represented Germany at the World Young Horse Championships, where he landed 4th place. Four weeks later he was 13th at the 2007 Bundeschampionat for 6-year-olds. In 2011 the Hessian-based Josephine Binder took over the ride and in March 2013 the junior rider Johannes Ruhl began competing the black stallion. Ruhl's father Frank also took over ownership of the stallion. The pair's last show together was in May 2013 at M Level.
Chris Kropf of Hawk Hollow Farm purchased Rascalino in 2017 and looks forward to an outstanding 2018.
