2015 Dark Brown Stallion (Escudo II x Pleasant Tap xx / Meadowlake xx) Donated by Sarah McCarthy DVM. Standing at EurEquine, LLC.
The only 3-year-old North American stallion licensed by the AHS in 2018.
Escher DFEN is an ideal young stallion to add the correctness, smoothness and modern type that so many breeders are striving for. He is a source of Thoroughbred blood for breeders looking to add that increasingly important element to their breeding programs.
In 2018 Escher was the only 3-year-old North American stallion licensed by the AHS. He was very well received at his inspection and rewarded with terrific scores. He received a 9 for type and masculinity. He also scored a 9 for neck, and 8s for saddle position, frame, foreleg, conformation, and importantly for canter, jumping ability, and overall impression. A judge commented that Escher “was a stallion he would use in his own program.” Escher DFEN should be a natural for the jumper arena, as both of his parents are part of the AHS Jumper Breeding Program (JBP).
Escher DFEN is by the legendary Escudo II. Escudo II's high breeding value suggests that Escher has a high likelihood of passing on his sire's, and his own, great characteristics.
Escher's dam is the successful event mare Apt to Please xx (Pleasant Tap xx). She was inspection Champion and completed her MPT, earning entry into the JBP. With her first two Hanoverian foals, Tap has produced an Elite Mare Candidate, and a licensed stallion. Escher's 4-year-old sister, Eleanor, was reserve for the Hartwig Trophy in 2017, and is in the JBP. Eleanor qualified for the 2018 USEA Four-Year-Old Young Event Horse Championships in her first lifetime horse show, and jumped brilliantly over the Championship course a few weeks later.
Escher will be aimed for the 2019 North American Stallion Sport Test in the jumper division as a 4-year-old. He has been campaigned through the USEA Future Event Horse program. Escher DFEN was the highest scoring 2-year-old colt/gelding in the nation last year with a score of 85.2 with no individual scores below 8.2 in any category. Comments included, “Excellent temperament. Good stallion quality individual.”
