Notes:

An exciting new son of Darco has arrived in the United States!  Darco Son (aka Geronimo)

Darco Son received his license upon successful completion of the stallion testing in Redefin in October 2014.  He received on trot a score of 8, and 9 on both walk and canter.  He arrived in the United States in early 2016 and completed his first season of breeding with a phenomenal conception rate of 100%.  He received his first breeding permit in the United States with the RPSI and has now achieved breeding status with the GOV and the SBS.  As an individual, his demeanor is stellar and tractable.  His jumping ability is what you'd expect from this exciting pedigree:  scope, purvey, power and willingness.  His mouth is soft; rideability is superb; the feel over the jumps is thrilling.

For five consecutive years, the great stallion Darco led the World Breeding Federation of Sport Horse ranking as the best jumping horse progenitor. He currently has the most offspring that competed at Grand Prix level. It is a record which no single sire has ever achieved since the ranking was first developed in 1995. Moreover, Darco is one of the few sires of the present ranking who previously appeared in the original rankings from 1995. In other words, Darco has been at the top for more than fifteen years. Reasons enough to assume, at this time, that Darco is the best jumping horse progenitor ever in show jumping.  His worldwide fame and international success with Ludo Philippaerts is today mirrored by his two- time Olympic Gold medal winning daughter Sapphire and her rider McLain Ward. His offspring continue to dominate the show jumping scene especially in the U.S. as you see his name in the pedigree of horses competing in virtually every major jumping competition. His offspring have proven to be very rideable by both professional and amateur riders.

Darco Son's dam, Vontanja, descends from a valuable Dutch breeding line. She, like the international 1.45m showjumper Salas (Clinton), is bred out of the Preferent Elite mare Montanja (Epilot). Montanja is a half-sister of the licensed Grand Prix stallion Londontimes (Goodtimes) who had a lot of succes with both Kevin Olsmeijer and Eric Levallois. Grandam Etanja (Le Mexico) also produced three 1.30m showjumpers and is grandam of the 1.60m showjumper Ultimo (Heartbreaker), who competed at the 2014 World Cup finals with Hamad Ali Mohamed A Al Attiyah. Vontanja's daughter Contanja M (Quidam de Revel) jumps at 1.30m level.

Imported at age 5, Darco Son easily qualified for the YJC finals and attended the YJC's Western League Championships at Showpark in September 2016.  With rider Christian Heineking, he finished 5th overall, with just 4 faults in the entire three-round competition.  In 2017, he earned the tricolor in his 6 Year Old YJC debut at HITS Coachella, and has high placings in several qualifiers.
