This young stallion brings some of the best Irish performance and Polish Arabian lines to American breeders in a tall, dark and handsome package.
Taproot Dutch Diamond is a great option for the Thoroughbred mare owner breeding for eventing or one wanting to add bone and body to their slight framed mares. His first foal crop is due April 2018.
In 2016, he qualified for both YHS Free-jump Finals and USEA East Coast FEH Championships. Allowing him to fully mature, we have not competed him this year and he is currently bring developed in a professional dressage program.
His sire Lucky, competed L5 jumpers and training level eventing. He also took 2nd place at the IDHSNA High Jump competition in 2005. He has daughters shown up to 3rd level dressage and Lucky sired the 2006 IDHSNA Supreme Champion bred by Bridon Irish Draughts, 2009/2010 Champion Partbred Performance Champion at IDHSNA Nationals. Lucky sired the 2010 Non-TB Foal Champion and also the 2009 Partbred and RID Young Stock Champions at Upperville. It's the Luck of the Irish has made a dramatic impact on the Irish Draught in the U.S. siring 100+ partbreds safely taking care of their amateur owners. He passes exceptional temperament, bravery and ability to learn. This, of course, is not without sacrificing athleticism, soundness and work ethic. Both damlines of It's the Luck of the Irish's pedigree were proven in the show ring as well as the breeding shed.
Lucky is by the International jumper Flagmont King, full brother to Flagmount Diamond and Flagmount Boy sired by the legendary King of Diamonds. He was a big athletic horse, earning 246 SJAI points and 220 International points. He was only R.I.D. Stallion to win open competition against the clock. He beat top horses such as Spring Elegance, Maloney's Error, etc. in Grand Prix Competition. He competed at the R.D.S., Millstreet and Salthill and jumped on the British Junior Team winning P&O European Ferries Rose Bowl at Royal Highland Show in Edinburgh. Also jumped in Portugal, Belgium, France and Switzerland.
Flagmont King was a quality R.I.D. sire with great temperament and correct confirmation and movement, sound of wind and limb. Jumped in International Competition until 1991. Siring good looking foals and young stock which are in strong demand. Sired the All Ireland Champion Yearling Filly Class at Ballinaslo in 1995 and the USEA ranked sires Flagmont's Freedom and King's Ransom.
Maggie's Last was imported from Ireland. Her dam, Mrs. Thatcher was the foundation mare of the famous Suma Stud. Mrs. Thatcher tragically died giving birth to Maggie. After she passed her inspection at two Maggie left for the States "She amazes me with her forward willing nature and her powerful athletic jumping ability."
The bottom half of TDD's pedigree is equally as interesting. His dam, Dutch Treatt was a proven working hunter before retiring to breeding duties. Dutch Treatt has produced very well through the experienced hands of Victoria Carson of Flying Chesterfield Farm. Hall of Fame is by Art Deco out of a NA/WPN approved thoroughbred, Strike Bound. Hall of Fame was High Score Stallion at his ISR/OLD inspection site out of 12 stallions and scored a 9 for jumping. He completed his 100 day testing and has been ranked in the Top 10 Dutch warmbloods for producing ASHA rated hunters. Strike Bound is line bred to Endeavour through Thoroughbred family #2.
Dutch Diamond is half brother to 2009 Seven n' Seven, Premium Oldenburg Gelding, qualified for FEI Young Horse 4 year-old test at his first dressage show, and was reserve colt at East Coast Oldenburg Yearling Colt class out of 10. Also, half bother to 2007 DeLiza now competing FEI I-1 with her daughter Domenique, after winning the Level 4 Freestyle at National Finals in 2015.
