Notes:

Lord Luciano, the last son of Enrico Caruso, was accepted into the American Hanoverian Society as a fully approved and licensed stallion in July 2017 for entrance into their stud book as a refining stallion. He joins the jumper, Special Memories (Abdullah-Kluwall xx/ Cornwall xx) as the second American-bred Trakehner licensed by the AHS. Upon Lord Luciano's acceptance into the AHS stud book, Dr. Werner Schade (VhW) from Germany had the following comment. “This stallion impressed us as soon as he started moving, especially a fantastic trot with excellent freedom in the shoulder and a great canter. He should be an interesting refining horse for some of the mares in the U.S.”

Lord Luciano received a 9 for trot, 8s for walk and canter and 9 for overall impression. The judging committee was impressed that “given his successful FEI International competitive career and his current age that his extensive x-rays were so clean.”

In 2005, Lord Luciano was sent to Germany for approval after a devastating fire at Tylord Farm in Vermont. He was approved in Wickrath, Germany in April 2006. As the first American-bred young stallion to be approved in Germany, he received the following comments from Trakehner Verband Head Breeding Director Lars Gehrmann, “ This is the first stallion to be entered into our stud book in over 50 years that was not bred in Germany. You only have to look into the eyes of this stallion to see how intelligent he is.” Lord Luciano was the highest placing Trakehner at the 30-Day Stallion test in Schlieckau, Germany receiving four 10s.

After completion of his 70-Day Test Lord Luciano embarked on a successful dressage career with Terhi Stegars up through Grand Prix. It was a special honor and a testament of Lord Luciano's quality as a breeding stallion when his daughter Dolce Luciana Pr.St., was presented as a gift to Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II for her Diamond Jubilee by Heinrich Donatus Prince of Hessen, a descendant of Queen Victoria. Lord Luciano returned to the USA in the fall of 2015.
