Smoothly Gaited Peruvian Paso

The perfect trail horse for riders who value safety and good manners!  Her smooth gaits are ideal for riders who have had back, hip, or knee surgery.  No need to have any former experience riding gaited horses.  Lucia is patient and forgiving to rider mistakes.  Guests have ridden her out on trails and described her as "riding a Cadillac of horses" because she is so comfortable to ride!

Lucia is a quiet, sweet Peruvian Paso mare.  She sticks right at 14h and vet estimates her age to be between 14 and 16 years old.  She is registered but a former owner lost her papers.  Along with being a safe trail horse, Lucia has years of experience in the show ring and as a broodmare. She is a calm and confident horse with an excellent work ethic.  She is not mareish or spooky. 

Lucia is amazing on the trails!  Such smooth gaits with easy transitions.  She rides out alone or in a group with gaited or non-gaited horses.  When riding with non-gaited horses, she will slow down, match their pace, and walk on a loose rein.  When we ride out in a group, everyone thinks she is a gelding.  It is difficult to find a mare with this nice of a temperament!  You can even ride her bareback or with a bitless bridle.  She is the same horse whether you ride her every day or once a month. 

Lucia has two flaws.  She is low in the pecking order and should be fed separately from food-aggressive horses.  Also, one of her udders is bigger than the other.  Vet has inspected and says it is nothing to worry about.

Lucia has wonderful ground manners and loves grooming and bathing.  You can tie her anywhere and she will stand for hours.  She loads and hauls like a pro.  She is up-to-date on shots, Coggins, hoof trimming, deworming, and floating.  She is a super easy keeper that eats very little grain and gets along with all the horses.  She is located in Brooksville, Florida.  Affordable shipping can be easily arranged anywhere in the US.
