Irish Summer is a beautiful, 11 yr. old, Irish Sport Horse mare.

She has been inspected by the Irish Draught Horse Society North America and is fully approved for breeding. She has produced two tall (16.2-16.3h), elegant foals with very correct conformation. She is a large, heavy muscled mare, but has lovely, animated movement.

She has been ridden only lightly (my fault, not hers). She spent 4 months with and eventing trainer and one semester at the University of Findlay being ridden daily by a student trainer. She did primarily flatwork, but has shown good form when free jumped. She is a willing and capable partner, but does get a little excited and nervous.

She is respectful and easy to handle from the ground. She has done Clinton Anderson Ground Work. Stands well for the horseshoer. Loads willingly. Allows clipping of her legs and fetlocks, but doesn't like clippers around her head (I use scissors). Has good feet and has been barefoot with natural balance trimming all her life.

She has been an excellent broodmare. She took both times on her first breeding. Foaled without assistance and was an excellent mother. She is used to being part of a friendly, stable herd. She gets along well and is pleasant with other horses in turnout. She has always been healthy and has no vices. She is current on vaccinations and dental care.
