2010 Welsh/Quarter 52" pony mare.

Matilda is a very cool do everything pony. English - Western - Trails - Cows. She has endless potential and enjoys new things. She has done a little of everything. She is the perfect pony for the kid that knows how to ride and wants to do lots of different things. Matilda has gone camping, rides wonderful bridle-less, been on lots of trail rides, been cattle sorting a few times, lightly started over fences and has begun learning her lead changes, started ground driving and pulls a tire, started on showmanship.

She has been to three horse shows and won all her lead line classes!

In 2017 she was shown in the 2ft hunters by a youth at Star Vaughn and placed 3rd out of 16 with two weeks in training.

In 2018 she was shown at Brookside Show Park in the 18" jumpers and got 4th out of 12 with a 2 week tune up at the trainers to prep her before the show.

Her professional training has been a few months each summer. If put in a consistent training program she will only continue to learn and grow. She is a very talented little mare and with the right kid her potential is endless. She has been very level headed and sensible in her time with us. She is also very smart, athletic and a quick learner. She likes quiet hands and a steady seat as she has a sensitive mouth and a good stop. She will tolerate beginners; my daughter started riding her at the age of 4 with beginners she stops often if they miss cue her with bouncy hands pulling or wobbly seats getting off balance. She hauls well and settles easily. She is a good size for kids or small adults! She is low maintenance and doesn't have to stay in a training program for the kids to enjoy her. Has always been sound barefoot. This pony likes to have someone to dote on her and play with her. She loves to be loved and works best for those who show her some love! We have had this great pony for 5 fun years she is sadly being sold to pay for a necessary ranch project.

She has three quirks but we have found them to be easy to live with!

1. She doesn't like to be stalled next to horses that pick on her and will get defensive towards a horse that's a bully but is great with horses that are sweet to her and is fine at shows and in sharing the arena with other horses.
2. She is not good about getting her ears clipped so I do it while she is having her annual dental or the week before the show. She stands fine for clipping the legs, face and body.
3. She likes to be outside or she gets depressed, stalls are fine as long as she gets plenty of time turned out to relax and decompress it makes her happy.
