Ampere x OO Seven x Flemmingh

2015 Dutch Warmblood mare Kaylix. 

She currently sticks at 15.2h and is still growing.  

Kaylix is a social butterfly with a sweet, curious disposition.  A brave and confident type with a good work ethic.  She is forward and light in the bridle with 3 nice rhythmic gaits.  Kaylix is a big mover and takes up a lot of leg.  She has excellent suspension and a natural extended trot that she enjoys showing off!  In the arena, Kaylix schools training level dressage and plays around with leg yielding, extensions, rein backs, etc.  

She has been started over small jumps and enjoys schooling cross country.  She hauls off-site for 10-15-mile trail rides, has been to a local dressage schooling show, and was used as a demo horse for the vet students at the Chi Institute to practice chiro.  She has attended trail obstacle practice, which helps to build trust and confidence in extreme real-world trail situations, similar to mounted police training.  Her favorite obstacles were crossing the narrow bridge, walking over the teeter-totter, and jumping the logs.

Kaylix was first premium at her inspection.  She is a super mover and would be a fabulous prospect for a working student or ambitious JR/AA rider working with a trainer who wants a fancy Warmblood to bring up the levels.  

She is a barefoot easy keeper and lives out in a mixed herd.  Middle of the pecking order with no vices.  Up-to-date on shots, Coggins, floating, etc.  We have a young stallion on site and Kaylix is kept on Regumate to prevent her from going into heat. She has very minor upward fixation of the patella (aka locking stifles), briefly evident when she stands in the same spot for hours and moves to walk off.  It has not affected her riding, the vet says she has no riding restrictions, and she seems to be growing out of it.  She is happiest when kept in a regular exercise program with lots of attention and minimal stalling.
