Save Your Face, aka, Read, is a 16+ hand Appendix Quarter Horse Gelding.
Read is a show horse looking for a show rider! He is smart, learns quickly, is multi-talented and is a beautiful mover. He has been ridden English and Western, and, as most horses who's riders show the QH circuit, has been schooled primarily in a western saddle. He has been shown successfully at open shows in the hack classes and equitation on the flat.
Read is started over fences, and shows real talent! He has also been started in flying lead changes, and it comes very easily to him.
Read works well off the riders leg, and has a lot of lateral work. He would make an excellent Western Dressage horse!
Read has spent his entire life, since he was a yearling, with the same owner. He spent several months at Findley College, but, other than being hauled to some shows, has never left the farm. He has been ridden sporadically through the years, but, always takes right up where he left off. His current rider got married about a year ago, and moved to California, so Read has been doing nothing! These videos were taken after only a few days of a refresher course. Read trail rides well and goes through water willingly. He is a smooth ride with a big, soft stride.
Read is best suited for an intermediate or above rider, since, even at 11 years old he is still a bit green due to not being ridden regularly. Read has always been sound, and has been barefoot for the last several years with no ill effects.
