Hip 254: Big Horn Show Saddle with Headstall

South Carolina)

16 inch FQHB Big Horn with Ferrule Headstall and Performax Bit.

  • 2021
  • Papers: No
Notes:

Older Big Horn show saddle but in very, very good shape. 16"" seat, FQHB (7"" gullet). Slight wear of the suede on the seat, little to no fender wear. None of the silver plating is worn off the trim. Gold horse-and-rider accents on some trim as shown. No plating is loose (as in, ready to fall off) but a couple pieces could use tightening (I do not know how to work on saddles). The silver plating on the stirrups needs to be re-set on or perhaps you might want to change out the stirrups for engraved aluminum, etc. Sells complete with girth and leather latigo.

ALSO, complete bridle. The ferrule headstall is not a well-known brand that I know of and the silver side conchos show wear. The bit is very unique on the shank design, 5"" mouthpiece and medium port as shown in pics, maker marked Les Vogts ""Performax."" I bought the ferrule split reins new to complete the bridle.

Great beginner set, for open shows - - - or if you're just looking for a new comfortable saddle because these Big Horns do ride comfortably.
