Oscar: Chestnut Jack Mule born 3/3/2020. NCSU Shy Drifter, aka ""Oscar"", is a prospect by four time National Champion Mammoth Jack, Mule Creek Drifter, and out of Shys Covergirl (Shys First Leaguer).

This jack mule's conformation, pedigree and demeanor make him the ultimate Western Pleasure or Hunt Seat prospect, however, he could excel in any number of disciplines.

He was born and raised as part of North Carolina State University's Animal Science program. Oscar has been used for teaching a variety of undergraduate students with varying horse skills in the Animal Science program. He successfully graduated from the NCSU Animal Science Growth and Performance Laboratory where he was routinely haltered and handled for leading, grooming, veterinary and farrier procedures. He has been consistently exposed to novel sights and sounds including traffic, fireworks and large groups of students.

Even though Oscar has gone through the NCSU program, due to his young age, it is recommended that he be handled by someone with experience. All handling has been done under the supervision of equine professionals.

Oscar is up to date on all preventative care (vaccines, hoof trimming, and deworming), has been microchipped and will come with a copy of his health records.

Funds from the sale of NCSU horses help to provide equine educational opportunities for students at the university.

The sire, Mule Creek Drifter, is a four time NASMA National Champion Halter Jack, three time Grand Champion Donkey at Halter NC State Fair, 2009 Model Donkey NASMA Congress Jackson, Ohio; 2008 Grand and Reserve NAILE Louisville Kentucky and 2008 High Point Donkey NAILE Louisville Kentucky. He has also earned his NASMA ROM and Superior at Halter. Mule Creek Drifter has also won numerous first place ribbons in western pleausre and hunt seat.
