Chevalier, (Chex) is a stunningly classy Oldenberg gelding who has the potential to be the horse of your dreams including competing in the hunter derbies with more training.

Chex is 16.1+HH, 6year old who will most likely mature to 16.2 HH. He is s dark bay with a white blaze who will definitely turn heads in the show ring. He is by the stallion Checkmate who has an amazing jumping style and great movement that Chex seems to have inherited.

Chex has been in training with Olin Armstrong for seven months and he has a great foundation. He has a natural lead change, long stride, lots of scope, a great trot, and has learned to respond to proper aids such as moving away from the leg, and cantering with balance. Chex has not shown because Covid-19 rules prohibited horseshows from taking place. He does however, canter quietly around 2.6” courses at home, has traveled to shows just to hack around (as a 5 year old,) and he has traveled to nearby barns for schooling purposes.

His owner has taken him slowly because he had every intention of making him up to be “famous” in the long term. Unfortunately, due to the owner's financial situation caused by Covid-19, Chex must be sold earlier than expected.

Chex is a pleasure to work with on the ground, has an “in your pocket' personality, stands well for the farrier, is an easy keeper, and loves attention. He has recently been moved to a small private barn until he sadly gets sold.
