Notes:

Woodrow has been used as a lesson pony for the last couple of years, for kids as well as adults.

Woodrow is excellent at teaching beginners on the longe line. When off the line he is best suited for an advanced beginner rider.

He is a bit of a push ride, but goes how you ride him. If you ride him to go, he'll go. If you ride him to whoa, he'll whoa. If you're light in the hand, he'll be light.

Once he bonds with his person, he tries very hard and wants to please. He's a quick learner and almost never has to be told twice. He remembers everything you tell him.

He is very brave and confident on the XC course, particularly in competition where he starts “looking for the flags” after the first few fences. Jumps ditches, up/down banks with ease. Although newly introduced to water, he does seem to enjoy it. A naturally talented eventer—eventing seems to be his calling.

He's very competitive and likes to do well. Almost never has a fault/rail down unless the rider loses their balance. Very athletic over jumps and has a very natural and accurate eye for distances. Will jump out of stride.

Though Woody has not been in the hunter arena, he would do well as a pony hunter.

He's the same at home and at shows. Leads, loads and trailers well.

Very comfortable canter, a good teacher for those being introduced to their for first time cantering.

He has very nice trot and canter transitions, basically push button and shortens well. Woodrow has a good consistant stretch circle.

Likes to hack out and be ridden bareback.

Leads well, even for the young or beginners with supervision.

Goes best in a simple bean snaffle, cob sized bridle and a regular to narrow saddle tree.

Enjoys scratches and a good curry, particularly on his neck, mane and face areas.

Woody is very sound and has very good feet. He can go barefoot on good footing and non-rocky surfaces, but did well having front feet shod during competition. No maintenance needed.

He has successfully competed in Combined Tests as well as Horse Trials at the starter level

Stands well in cross-ties and very good to groom. Picks up all four feet easily, even for beginners.

Good for for farrier, vet and basically any type attention that is all about him.

Easy keeper and very neat in his stall.
