Barb wire border tooling, iron conchos with silver barb wire and star. This saddle has a matching rear cinch, plus custom cinch strap and off billet. The skirts measure 28" front to back and are a close contact shape. I added Schutz Brothers saddle strings to the rear conchos and a mulehide horn wrap to give it a more “Ranchy” look. The horn wrap can be removed easily. The saddle weighs about 38 pounds.

The saddle was never used until I bought it recently to have a padded seat saddle to ride some since my other saddles are hard seats. I have known the McLelland family for a long time was confident in the high quality of their saddles. I spoke with them before buying this saddle. They said they would ask $3,500 for it if it was in their store. A new saddle like this would cost $6,000 or more from McLelland's.

The tree is most likely on semi Quarter Horse bars. It fits my mare well but is not wide enough for my stocky gelding. It is very comfortable and allowed me to be in the right position to ride my Reining mare. I am disappointed that it didn't fit both of my horses.

This saddle was custom made for a rider that was on the petite side, so current fenders are shorter than full size. From middle of seat to top of stirrup foot rest, the fenders adjust to 30-1/2" at LONGEST setting so it is not suited for a long legged rider. The fenders are for a shorter adult or youth rider. The fenders could accommodate a taller rider if longer stirrup leathers were added to the fenders. McLelland's can make new fenders to match this saddle. Their new fenders start at $399.
