Notes:

BLAZED N GLAZED (barn name BLAZE) is double registered; APHA and PtHA with a show record in hunter and western pleasure. He was sired by BLAZING HOT who is one of the most recognized stallions in English and Western Pleasure (3.8 Million and still earning). Blaze has always been owned by one rider at a time and done a lot of showing in both mentioned disciplines. However, I believe that years of showing put him out of a willing mindset to do that every weekend and I think he just got burned out. I purchased him as a lesson horse prospect in August of 2020. My goal was to see if he could take different students on his back like beginner through advanced and be a horse that most of my students could ride and handle. After a year of steady work in our riding program, and some light showing away from our farm, I have decided that he would do much better with a more consistent ride. I believe he needs someone who knows how to give him consistent cues with every ride.

He has had many students on his back from 7-year-old through adult beginners, intermediate hunter riders and advanced riders. I have used him for beginner camp and intermediate jumping camp. Blaze has trail ridden with other horses and done well. I don't think he was ever on a trail ride before I purchased him since he was more of a performance horse doing shows. Although he has tolerated all of this, I have recently felt that he isn't completely happy in our busy lesson program.

He doesn't need a crop but doesn't mind it either and is used to spurs. He has a very low key even keeled way of trotting around the arena. My beginners have really enjoyed riding him. For the last year he's been ridden in English tack. He doesn't like his nose bumped by the rider and prefers a nice loose rein with no contact. He goes with or without a bit, but I have had him bitless (either ridden with a hackamore or a halter and reins).

Blaze does have some triggers and I'm not always sure what they are when he has them. He does not like to be alone in the arena or when tacking up or when trail riding. The previous owner never let him out with other horses, and he was alone for 3 years before I purchased him. I believe that made him very attached to horses after he came to my farm. When he is alone, he will paw, move around a lot while tied and kick out with his back feet. Sometimes he will also get nippy while tacking when he has one of these triggers. I have also found a trigger when horses change around our farm. Our riding school has become much busier this past year and have observed that when horses come and go on our farm it creates a sense of insecurity or worry. When he is happy, he's perfect and his temperament is a 1 being calm and easy going. When he gets a trigger, he goes from a 1 to a 5. If the trigger is dealt with then he calms right back to a 1.

For the past 14 months I have provided Blaze with a balanced life of rest, light showing, a moderate but not high demanding lesson schedule with lots of attention and care. He's ready to be with the right owner who knows how to “push his buttons” so to speak and get a great ride from him all the time.

Loads easily, ties and stands for shoeing with the farrier. He has shoes in the front and barefoot in the back.

Teeth floated this week ( October 20th)
