Shakira is a gorgeous 12 year old black mare that turns heads wherever she goes. She was shown extensively in halter before I owned her. She was started under saddle when she was younger and then was owned by an older gentleman who only showed her in halter. She has been getting rode consistently currently and although she is green she has never offered to buck or rear.

Very smart and willing to learn, she knows how to lunge but I just get on and go. She is just learning to leg yield, move her hind quarters and pivot under saddle. She is very curious and wants to go see everything.

Shakira is an excellent mover and with someone who has the time she could really be something special. I had big plans to show her in the ranch classes but with a one year old of my own i have to face the reality that i wont have that kind of time for a few more years. The video of Shakira really shows where she is at, i grabbed her from the pasture, saddled her up, got on and took the video real quick. Nothing was edited nor was she ridden and warmed up before hand, what you see is what you get.

UPDATE: Shakira must have done something out in the pasture the other night. She has swelling in her left hind rear hock and cannon bone. She was taken to the vet today and vet is confident that it is just a soft tissue issue and will just take some time for the swelling to go down. X-rays are available and she is completely sound on it. I have no problem keeping her until the swelling is down at no board charge.
