Consignors Note: WHY NOT BE PERFECT , born in 2007, is the sire of Zee Shadow Rules. From the age of four to eight, he had an Equibase rating of 100 or higher, with his peak being a stunning 117--comparable to Justify, who was rated at 114. Of the 86 races Why Not Be Perfect started, he was in the money 42% of the time. During the last few years of his career, Why Not Be Perfect ran at Golden Gate Fields. At Emerald Downs, he holds the second highest time for a 6 furlong at 1:13:72.
He has been profoundly successful running both long and short distances, on footing of both turf and dirt. His lengthy racing career began at the age of two, and he continued to run with incredible style and strength until he retired, sound, at 10. Now he resides in Oregon and has three crops of beautiful foals. Passing down the hooves that our farrier praises for being some of the best he has worked on, these foals are highly athletic and competitive. Several veterinarians have noted that they are built with great racing conformation.
