Prospector is a tall athletic gelding with miles up 1.25M jumpers and 3'6” hunters. He has an amateur friendly character, but is talented enough for a pro.

Prospector is a flashy 2011 gelding by the international grand prix jumper stallion Portland L. Prospector stands 16.3 hands high, and with four white socks and blaze, he gets noticed in the show ring. Prospector is scopey, brave, and intelligent and takes on new challenges with ease. He has shown up to 1.25M jumpers with an amateur and has the scope and show experience to go higher. He also excels in hunter derbies, with placings at the 3'6” level. Prospector could go on to great heights with a pro or he would also be an ideal mount to show a new rider the ropes in the 1.20M. He will pack any rider around the show ring and never looks at a fence. He goes up the bank, through the devil`s dyke, and jumps ditches and liver pools without question. He is fun to ride on the flat with an easy lead change and large steady canter stride. Prospector has a puppy dog personality around the barn and he can easily be handled by anyone.

Prospector has an extensive show record, showing in the young horse development series and jumping up to 1.25M as a six-year-old. He has shown at Spruce Meadows and other world-class venues. Prospector is a talented, experienced, and athletic horse who is set-up and ready to show this season.

Prospector`s sire, Portland L, competed in Germany under team rider Marco Kutscher. He showed at international levels with tremendous success. Portland has produced licensed sons and many offspring who were champions in the young horse jumper classes in Europe. One of his most famous offspring is Tovek`s Mary Lou who shows with Henrik Von Eckerman. Since his import to Canada he has sired many horses who have excelled in the jumper and medal rings. His offspring are brave, powerful, and intelligent.
