Kit is a 2-year-old red roan draft cross (Belgian Brabant x Quarter Horse) filly that was born and raised at the Ohio State University Equine Facility. Her AQHA dam, Queens Mirror Image, is by Little King Freckles, an NCHA money-earner by the legendary NCHA Hall of Fame stallion, Peppy San Badger. Kit's sire is Ivan van der Vrienden, a purebred Brabant stallion double registered with the American Brabant Association and the Belgian Draft Corporation of America, who rides and drives.

Kit was lightly started under saddle this semester by student trainer, Natalie Liliav, in the Advanced Equine Behavior and Training class and has been ridden in a variety of settings - outdoor sand arena, grass obstacle course, and on the bridle trails at Prairie Oaks Metro Park.
