Seizing the Day, affectionately known as Zing, is a 2-year-old palomino Quarter Horse gelding that was born and raised at the Ohio State University Equine Facility and is a full-sibling to our herd stallion, Roosters Gold Spark, the 2019 OVRHA Intermediate and Limited Open Champion and NRHA money-learner.

Zing's sire, NHF Peppy Spark, is an ARHA World Champion in Reining and OVRHA Intermediate Open Reining Champion, and his paternal grandsire, the legendary Shining Spark, is an NRHA Hall of Fame Stallion whose offspring have exceeded $10 million dollars in lifetime earnings. His maternal grandsire, Peeko del Cielo, is a point- and money-earner son of Gallo del Cielo (Rooster), an NRHA and NRCHA Million Dollar Sire.

Zing was lightly started under saddle this semester by student trainer, Olivia Jones, in the Advanced Equine Behavior and Training class. and has been ridden in a variety of settings - outdoor sand arena, grass obstacle course, and on the bridle trails at Mohican State Park.
