Kat is a 2-year-old red roan draft cross (Belgian Brabant x Quarter Horse) gelding that was born and raised at the Ohio State University Equine Facility. His AQHA dam, Moveyourhandsplease, is by Artful Investment, a 5-time AQHA World Champion and 2-time AQHA Reserve World Champion who earned over 2,500 points and 8 Superiors in different events.

Kat's sire is Ivan van der Vrienden, a purebred Brabant stallion double-registered with the American Brabant Association and the Belgian Draft Corporation of America, who rides and drives.

Kat was lightly started under saddle this semester by student trainer, Nicole Williams, in the Advanced Equine Behavior and Training class. and has been ridden in a variety of settings - outdoor sand arena, grass obstacle course, and on the bridle trails at Mohican State Park.
